AN IMPERTINENT PRESSMAN.
ASSAULT ON THE AMERICAN GENERAL. (Received July 21, 10.10 a.m.) Washington, 20th July. The correspondent of the New York World struck General Shatter in the face for refusing him permission to assist in hoisting the American flag at Santiago after the surrender. For this the correspondent was arrested and deported.
