ANOTHER EXPEDITION SENT FROM AUCKLAND.
[by telegraph— press association.] Auckland, This Day. An armed detachment of the Permanent Force under Captain Coyle (35 strong) proceeded at 3 o'clock this morning by special train to Onehunga, where the
Gairloch, under special charter, convoyed them to the scene of the Maori disturbance. They took one Maxim gun with them and 2000 rounds of ammunition for it, also 8000 rounds of carbine and revolver ammunition. Four additional constables were detailed to accompany the Permanent Force. They Mere equipped with revolvers and 20 rounds of ammunition for each man.
