A PRISONER ESCAPES.
[BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, 30th April. A prisoner named Isaac Cam, who was sentenced to three years' hard labour last year for assaulting his wife in the Whangarei district, made his escape from the hard labour gang at Fort Cautley this morning. He eluded the vigilance of the warders, and was not missed uutil some time after he had made his escape from the rest of the gang. A number of police are searching for him. This Day. Cam was captured i yesterday. He was hiding amongst some gorse. He attempted to run away from his pursuers, but otherwise offered no resistance.
