SPORTING.

[by telegraph— press association.] Auckland, This Day. This morning St. Paul traversed about one mile and five furlongs, being .assisted by Pororua and Markinch at different stages, and the gallop was a good one. Royal Conquerer put in a fair gallop over a mile and a half. Daystar, assisted by Armilla and Miss Hose, galloped a similar distanre. He finished up his task really well. Lillio defeated Lady Cuisine over six furlongs. Antares, Plying Fish, arid Panoply ran a mile and a-half, the first-named being in front at the finish. Conqueror, Altair, and Gold Medallist moved very freely in their work. St. Crispin, Lady Marion, and Tim galloped a round at a solid pace, the trio being

togetheratthe finish. Nestor, who looks much improved, traversed a couple of rounds at three-quarter pace. Levanter and Kiugswood performed useful work, both moving well. Reckless had slightly the best of llennosa in a six furlong gallop. Coronet -covered two miles. The gallop was a good one, and he must have a good chance of wiuuing the Cup. Multiform is likely to be a non-starter at the meeting. Armilla went amiss after her work this morning.

Mr. J. E. Henry, the well-known liandicappw, informs us that the statement that he had made a donation of £10 to the Masterton Racing Club is incorrect. Tho racehorses Hillstoue, Yellow Rose, Slaiden, and Daisy Bell were shipped to the West Coast of the South Island by the Mawhera yesterday to compete at the Christmas aud New Year meetings.
