■VTEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. OPENING OF LINE BETWEEN WELLINGTON AND NAPIER VIA WAIRARAPA. On and after MONDAY, 13th December, 1897, the following alterations and additions to the Te Aro-Mangatainoka Time-table will operate. The present 5.45 a.m. train from Eketahuna to Masterton will not run. ! The present 6.40 a.m train from Mangatainoka to Cross Creek will not run, but a train to take its place will leave Woodville at 6.0 a.m. ; Mangatainoka, G. 20 ; Pahiatua, 6.40 ; Eketabuna, 8.30 ; Mauriceville, 9.15 ; Masterton, 10.30 ; Carterton, 11.10 a.m. j and Featherstonj 12.5 p.m. A train will leave Woodville at 3.0 p.m., arriving at Masterton at 6.15 p.m. A train will leave Masterton at 6.15 a.m., and arrive at Woodville at 9.40 a.m., and connect with the 9.55 a.m. train thence to Palmerston and Wanganui. The train which at present leaves Masterton for Eketahuna at 6.0 p.m. five days a week will run daily, leaving Masterton at 5.40 p.m., and arriving at Woodville at 8.55 p.m. The present morning train from Te Aro to Mangatainoka will run through to Napier, leaving Woodville at 2.35 >p.m., and arriving at Napier at 7.23 p.m. The through train from Napier to Wellington will leave Napier at 8.5 a.m. ; Woodville 1.15 p.m. ; Mangatainoka, 1.34 ; Pahiatua, 1.48 ; Eketahuna, 2.45 ; Masterton, 3 57 ; Carterton, 4.25 ; Greytown, 4.36 ; Featherston, 5.6 p.m. ; arriving at Wellington at 8.25 and Te Aro at 8.37 p.m. This train will take the place of the present afternoon train Mangatainoka to Wellington. Instead of the present afternoon train Te Aro to Masterton, a train will leave Te Aro at 3.45 and Wellington at 4.0 p.m. ; Featherston, 7.8; Greytown, 7.10; Carterton, 7 50arriving at Masterton at 8.17 p.m. A new time-table will also operate between Woodville and Napier. SUBURBAN TRAINS. The train at present leaving Lower Hutt for Wellington at 8.0 a.m. will leave Lower Hutt at 8.12 a.m. and arrive at Wellington at 8.40 and Te Aro 8.49 a.m. The train at present leaving Te Aro at 8.41 a.m. and Wellington at 8.50 for Lower Hutt will leave Te Aro at 9.0 a.m. and Wellington at 9.15 a.m. and arrive at Lower Hutt at 9.50 a.m. For full particulars ace posters. _. . . m BY ORDER. Commencing on MONDAY, 13th instant, Passengers, Parcels, and Goods will be conveyed from ANY STATION to ANY STATION on the Wellington-Napier-New Plymouth Section. Oonsignors will note that under this arrangement PARCELS and GOODS of all kinds will be accepted at the GOVERNMENT RAILWAY STATION, WELLINGTON, for carriage to Napier, Waipawa, Dannevirke, Woodville, Palmerston North, l?eilding-, Wanganui. Hawera, New Plymouth, and all other Stations. For the purpose of computing fares, rates and charges, for passengers, luggage, horses, carriages, dogs, live stock, and general goods, conveyed over' the Government Railway, the distance between any two stations shall be determined on the basis of the shorter railway route, provided that the fares, rates, and charges, as determined by this regulation, shall in no case exceed the through fare, rate, or charge that would be chargeable via the Wellington and Mcmawatu Railway Company's Litw. . The fare for passengers from and to Wei-' ling ton, Saywards t andintermediate stations, to and from WoodMlle. Makalcahi, andintermediate stations, shall not exceed the fare Wellington to Woodville. For the purpose of convputing fares for passengers between Te Aro and stations from Woodville to Malcaicahi inclusive, the distance will be deemed to be 106 mileß.
