[PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Duxedin. 22nd July. A baker was to-day fined £2 and £1 on two charges of selling light-weight bread. Auckland, This Day. . FA fire at Warkworfch destroyed the house of Mr. B. R. Sceats, which was insured for £300 in the New Zealand office. Napieb, This Day. Messrs. Nelson Bros, received the following cable message from London thi# morning :— -To-day's quotations are— Best Canterbury, Sid ; Dunedin, 3jd ; Napier and North Island, 2£d. There is an indifferent demand for lamb, and prices have fallen— best quality lamb, 3fd ; second quality, 3Jd. Dunedin, This Day. Gold is being obtained in large quantities by the Electric Dredge No. 2, which is still being worked in the river near Cromwell.
