ST. PAUL'S.
The Vestry of St. Paul's reports that the receipts are larger than last year, the increase being in special donations, which amount to £105 5s 6d, and seat rents, which show'an increase of £8 4s 3d ; while, on the other hand, there is a falling-off amounting to £9 4s 4d in special offertories, and £3 19s Id in ordinary offertories. The net result for the year, after extinguishing the debit balance of £80 7s 4d brought forward from the previous account, leaves a credit balance of £54 13s. This balance is materially lessened by the assessment contribution (£37 10s) to the general church fund, which, owing to the absence of a curate, has not been levied. During the year the church has been considerably improved by the installation of electric light and .alterations to the choir vestry, chancel and choir stalls, and filling in the north transept window with cathedral glass. The Vestry regrets the departure of Mr. Tisdall, and intimates that at the request of the Bishop it has agreed to contribute £30 towards the stipend of a prison and hospital chaplain. Owing largely to the generosity of Mrs. Rhodes the debt upon the Wadestpwn Church property has been extinguished, and the property has come under the control of the church and a committee of management appointed. Any surplus which Wadestown may have after payment of necessary expenses will be devoted to a stipend fund for a clergyman for that district. The report rexpressVs the thanks of the vestry to the choir, Sunday-school teachers, district visi-t tors, church and missionary guilds, Dorcas and relief societies, and committees of the Kindergarten School and the Wadestown Churchroom for their voluntary services during the year.
