THE AUCKLAND POLICE SCANDAL.
SEVEEE PUNISHMENT OF THE PECCANT OFFICEES. [by telegbaph— pbess association.] Auckland, This Day. As the outcome of the unjustifiable arrest of Mr. George South, sharebroker, the Minister of Justice has decided that Sergeants M'Mahon and Gamble be requested to send in their resignations ; that Constables M'Carthy and Quirke be dismissed from the Force ; and that Constable Clarke be reduced to the rank of second-class constable, and be transferred to another district. Inspector Hickson has been requested to give effect to this decision at once.
