THE LOSS OF THE MARRAMARRA.

■ ♦ The steamer Marramarra, when she went ashore on Friday nighff on the beach near Oeo, Taranaki, was bound from Wanganui to Mokau with a load of bricks. Captain Eeardon was in charge of the vessel, and it is understood (says a local paper) that he was on the deck some ten minutes before the steamer struck. The captain hit to consult 'the engineer, and was in the engine-room when she struck. When he rushed on deck the steamer was on the rocks headed for shore, and soon became a total wreck. Nothing was saved. The crew took to the ' boats, and landed at Opunake near midnight. The vessel was insured for £1000 in the Alliance office.
