This Day. (Before Mr. Martin, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Four fi-st offenders wero fined, and two others, who had been locked np since Saturday night, were convicted, and discharged. Mary Nod will, nlias Merlin, for habitual drunkennesa, was fined 20s, in default to undergo four days' imprisonment ; and Annie Diamond was sent to prison for three months' hard labour. Patrick Kecgan was fined 20s, in default to undergo four days' imprisonment, for having been drunk and disorderly. THEFT. Alfred Golder and George Sandbrook were remanded to the 9th instant on a charge of haying stolen j617 from William Warnock. Bail was allowed for each of the accused, in two sureties of .£l5 each. OBSTRUCTING THE FIRE BRIGADE. James Curdew, a man-o'-war's man from tho gunboat Lizard, pleaded Not Guilty to having been drunk and having wilfully obstructed Captain Kemsley, of the Fire Brigade, while ho was engaged at the fire which occurred on Saturday night at Lawson's auotion-room. Kvidence was given by members of the Fire Brigade that tho aooused mounted the roof of the building and was shouting orders to everybody. Ho would not get off the promises when ordered, and a struggle between him and one of the firemen m the space between the ceiling and the roof resulted ii tho fireman falling into the room below. A BARMAID'S HALF-HOLIDAY. Henry John Walter, liuensoe of the Western Hotol, Willis-street, pleaded Guilty to a technical breacli of the Suops and Shop Assistants Act in not allowing a barmaid omployod by him a half-holiday. Instead of having givon her tho afternoon as a holiday he had given her a holiday up to 1 o'clock in (he dny.
