A CHAIR FOR THE POPE.
♦ A chair of solid silver, valued at 800f. is on its way to Home from America. It is a gift to the Pope from Mr. Troop, a wealthy American banker, and it is intended to be used in the same way as a~ Sedan chair, while the doner regards it as a protest against the celebration in connection with the forthcoming anniversary of the establishment of the civil power.
