At the inquest on tho body of Lindsay, who waa found drowned in a vat of beer at the Metropolitan Brewery on Tuesday, a verdict of Accidental Drowning was returned. It is supposed that ho was overcome by the fumes of the beer while examining the vat. Ibo vat contained 1000 gallons, which was run into the street gutter. (Received November 9,11 a m.) Melbourne, This Dat. The balance of the money for the purchase of the Central Broken Hill mine has been paid. In the Legislative Assembly the Malice Landa Bill, providing for perpetual leasing and othenviso easing the bnrdena of the farmers in the Mallee country, has passed all its etigea.
