Nblson, Yesterday aftornoon tho 14 year old daughter of Mr. Last Harris, with a youngor ohild, wont to bathe in tho Maitai Rivor, whioh was slightly swollen and discoloured by recent rains. Tho girl could only swim a few strokes, and appears to havo got out of hor depth, and bocome flurried, aud sunk. Tho child ran for assistance, which was obtained, but when tho body (whioh was earned down stream into 12ft of water) was recovered life was extinct
