MARRIAGE AND DEATH.

An unusually solemn double wedding was solemnised in a Brooklyn (N.Y.) home lately. The wedding waa a result of the desire of Mr. Gaybert Barnes to see his daughters, Bessie aud Rachael, married before his death, which was believed to be imminent. Only the members of the family and a very few intimate friends were present at the ceremony, the arrangements for which were completed within five hours after Mr. Barnes made bis request. The brides were given away and blessed by their dying father, and, to savo the invalid from fatigue as far as possible, a single ceremony sufficed for both.

From the statement in bankruptcy of Oscar Wilde's affairs it appears that since July, 1893, he has recoived about £4000 in royalties for his plays.
