In reply to the Hon. R. Phorazyn's question as to the amount of ammunition held in reserve in the oolony, the Colonial Seoretary said that that gentleman, by his question, had pnt himself within the four corners of the Militia and Volunteers' Seorets Aot, and was liable to prosecution, from whioh he (Sir Patrick) was not snre that the privilege of Parliament wonld proteot him. Mr. Heke does not think there is any member of the House who osn better stand investigation of his politioal record of the past two years than himself. Anokland monumental masons are protesting through Mr. Crowther against anomalies in the tariff on monumental stones. The women's petition for raising the age of consent and amendment of the divoroe laws has beon referred to Government for consideration. The petition of Mrs. Yon Meyern for relief in oonseqnenoe of having been fined for obstructing the footpath has been referred to Government for consideration. Tbe Petitions Committee has "no reoommendation to make" on the potition for Soripturo-reading in sohools. . The Wellington City Loan Conversion Bill is being withdrawn. Had the Honse passed the Bank Bill last night it would have adjourned till Tuesday, to permit members to visit the Christohuroh Exhibition. The events of the night make it improbable that thiß will be done, though if good progress is made to-night an adjournment may still be granted.
