The sohooner Btruck the steamer with great force, cutting through the plates amidships, and causing a gap of two feet, through whioh the water poured in. As there was danger of tbe steamer sinking, ebe was headed for the shore, and the boats were swung out However, by great enorgy, the crew and passengers shifted sufficient cargo to cant the vessel, and bring the rent above the water-line. The Ranelga then Bteamed back here. Ihe uohooner also sustained muoh damage.
