After the extended publioity given to the arrangements during the past week, it U now only neoessary to point out that the benefit concert in aid of the funds for £hp relief of the unemployed takes plage .tonight, at the Opera House. A crowded dress circle is practically assured, andpn th,e great bulk of the publio, who have not yet had an opportunity of snbsoribinjr to the fnnds, rests the onus of filling the other parts of tho theatre. The Committee desires to epeoially tbank the following gontlemen for their liborality to the concert fund i— Mes3rs. Blnndell Bros and Direotort of New Zealand Times, advertising ; Messrs. M'Kea and Gamble, Whitcombs and Tombs (Ld ), Brown and Thomson, and Edwards, finsBell, and Co.,, printing programmes, posters, tickets, and stationery; (Mr. H. The funds available for the relief of the unemployed in the oity amount to only about £91, lnsufflo'ent to pay wages for the remainder of the week. Ihe 90 men employed were accordingly discharged to-night, and abont 40 of the most deserving ones will be re-engaged to-morrow.
