Deceased made a living by palmistry, Ac, and was known as Madame Euaso. She bad been married a second time, to a foreigner. Haweba, This Dat. A man named Thomas Jones, employed on ths co-operative works at the Ngairo swamp, died suddenly last night. (Our Own Correspondent. ) Taurakoa, This Dat. Mr. Mnllmger, overseer of works on Thompson's 1 rack at the Katikati side of the range, bad bis ankle-bone shattered by a falling tree. The sufferer was oarried four miles through the bosh to Mrs. Andrews' houeo. He Bnfferod terribly, being conscious the whole time. Dr. Porter, of Tauranga, was telegraphed for, and mortification setting in he amputated the leg boloir the knee. The patient is novr progressing favourably.
