STEAMERS ON FIRE. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received August 22, 1 p.m.) Sydney, This Day.

The steamers Emn and Victorian, both belonging to the Adelaide Steamship Company, are now (10 a.m ) on fire at the Sugar 'Company's wharf, Pyrmont. The steamers Viotorian, Emu, and South Australian, all belonging to the Adelaide S.S. Company, have been laid np some months, and moored together off tho Sugar Company's Wharf. The fire apparently started in the fore part of the Viotorian, and raged so furiously that the vesßel was burnt clean out. The flames spread to the Emu, but wore extinguished after destroying the officers' quarters. The origin of the outbreak is co far a mystery. The Emu is an iron Borew steamer of 362 tons net register, built in 1876 at Glaßgow. The Viotorian is also an iron screw steamer of 415 tons net register, built at Glasgow in IHTu»
