The Registrar-General's return of vita statistics for the month of July giveß tho number of births and deaths, and proportion of deaths to 1000 of population as follows for the several boroughs

In the four chief towns and their Bnbirrbß the deaths in July from specific febrile and zymotio diseases numbered 10, 4of whioh were from influenza — 1 at Christchurch and 3 at Dunedin.
