At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-night, % letter was read from the New South Wales Association stating that although a thoroughly representative team could not be despatched daring the ensuing , season, a very good team oonld be sent in , January next, bnt snggestinjr that tbe proposed visit should be postponed (or twelve ' months. /The Seoretary stated that he had ' written asking that the best available team , v — whioh information from various sources | showed wonld be a very good team— should . be sent to New Zealand in Jannary. He ' read private letters whioh stated that, although the team would not bo quite representative, it wonld'be superior to that whioh ' came under the direction of Mr. Davis. The ■ aotion of the Seoretary was approved. It ■ was decided to hold a general meeting of the * Counoil on 27th September. Messrs. Cnff, ' Wood, and Smith wero appointed a subcommittee to draft a aoheme for the arrangement of interprovinoial matches, with a view to the visits of teams being placed in convenient rotation.
