GRE» TOWN N'OBTH, THIS DAT. The body of George loader, who with four others were loet on the Tar&ma ranges last bunday, was fonnd yesterday by his brother, who was one of the search party of 20. He was dead, lying in tbo fern on his back. Tho right hand was drawn towards the head, and the thumb was nearly bitten off through the nail. Deoeaßod had apparently gnawed all his fingers. The ground was disturbed as if in a struggle before his death Ono leg of the tronsers bad been torn off, and the stomach was exposed. A stretcher was made of a saok and sticks, and the body carried to Mr. Knutson's house at Dalefield, and thence driven to the Greytown Hotel, where it is now lying. Great sympathy is felt for the mother of deceased, who is a widow, to whgrn he was a great Eupport. Upon hearing the news, Bhe immediately went into a fit and became ill. The funeral takes place on Sunday. An inquest on the body is being held this afternoon before Mr. T. Hutchison, Coroner. The evidence of A. and K. Hobman, who left tbo other three of the patty in good health, showed that the snow on the ranges was deep They remained out ons night, but saw nothing of the others. Bichard Sayer, of Dalefield, one of those who found the bedy, inferred in his evidence that all three - Loader, Smith, and Salisbury — camped together in the fern on the hills ou Tuesday night ; that Loader died during the same night ; and that when the moon arose bmith and Salisbury carried the body out into the open and went further up the ridge.
