1 | TRUSS ASSOCIATION. | \ (Beoaived AugUßt 10, 8 a.m.) Stdnbt, This Day. A sensational conspiracy case has been ' before the Supreme Court. Last year Judgo Windeyer granted Thos. B Butler a deoreo nisi for divorce from his wife on the gronnd of adultery with George Williams, who3e real name has sinoe been ascertained to be Charles Davis. Subsequent revelations led the Crown to prefer against Butler, Davis, and a woman named Peake a oharge of conspiring to falsoly acouse Mrs. Butler. Evidence was submitted to prove that Davis and Peake were paid by Butler to lead his wife astray in order that he might obtain a divorce. All throe accused were found Guilty, the jury adding a rider that Mrs. Butlor had not committed an offence for which divorce could bo granted. Bntler and Davis wore sontenood to seven and Feako to four years' imprisonment. Bofe, who aoted aa solicitor for Butler in the divorce proceedings, has also been arrested on the charge of conspiraoy.
