GAS EXPLOSION AT INGLEWOOD.

A LAD SEBIOUSLY INJUEED. (From a Correspondent. J Inqlbwood, This Dat. In connection with the operations at the gasometer erected on Mr. Laing's property, Chain-road, an explosion oconrred on Saturday afternoon, whereby a son of Mr. Laing, named Alexander, was severely injured about the face and body. It appears that young Laing lifted the side of the gasometer, and thereby allowed the air to get into it. An explosion followed, and the youth was blown about 10 feet from the gronnd. The gaßometer came down with such force that the bottom of it Btruck deep into the gronnd. A boy named Paterson also narrowly escaped. Dr. Valentine attended to the sufferer, who, it is feared, will not recover. A Press Association telegram state* that the gasometer in question was one which had boon placed over a natural gas spring.]
