ORTON' S CONFESSION.

In his confession as published in The People, Arthur Orton tells of a meeting he . had in Paris with Chitilion, Sir Roger Tioh- ' borne's tutor, who declined to believe in hit identity. Orton showed him a scar ho had similar to a scar known to be on Sir Rogei ; Tichborne's body, 'and prodnood other proofs ' of recognition ; but still the tutor refused tc 1 believe his story. He afterwards me) • Carter, who was formerly a private in the Carabineers. Carter believed his assertion . that he was Sir Koger Tiohborne, nnd waE able to give him much news regarding the ' officers of the regiment He subsequently engaged Carter as a servant. , (Received June 8, 10.50 a.m.) London, 7th June. Orton, in Vib further confession, states that each step he advanced helped him in | others. Lady Tiohborne and the members of the family in testing his memory supplied ! him with further foundation for his claims tc the estates. He admits that the sole basic for the deception consisted of his talks with ' Bogle, Slade, and others in Sydney and Wagga, whioh enabled him to meet the 1 questions put by the family.
