CRICKET. STODDART'S TEAM AT HOME.
I FBES3 ASSOCIATION. I London, 7th May. A large namber of people assembled at Plymouth to woloomo Stoddatt's team on its return from Australia. Peel, one of the team, in the ooarsa of an interview, declared that colonial cricket had vastly improved, and that the members of the team were charmed with their visit and the hospitality extended them. He believed that the Australian team chosen to visit England Dext year would comprise Jthe best all-round players the colonies possessed. (Received May 0, 10.10 a.m.) liOnijon, Bth May. In an artiole in tho Pall Mall Gazette, Georgo Giffen cays that Stoddart's team in a marked degree revived Australian cricket, and a more popular team never toured the colonies. He considers that the best .Australian eleven is slightly stronger than Stoddart's team.
