The first meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand .Rugby Union held since the annual meeting of delegates, was held this afternoon. Present — Messrs. Campbell (in the chair), Wesney, Bate, Wells, DeCosta, Hoben, Hyamß, and M'Cardell. The Queensland Union wrote that the team would loave Brisbane for New Zealand abont the middle of August, and nßking whether this wonld be suitable, and as to teriDß. It was decided to strongly urge upon the Queensland Union that the team should leave Brisbane at least a fortnight earlier, coming from Sydney to Anokland, returning via the Bluff and Melbourne. It was decided as a matter of assietiinoe to the Victorian Rugby Union to suggest that the Queensland team play one match at Melbonrne en route. The matter of terms was gone into, and it was decided to offer the Queensland Union the same terms as were given by it to the New Zealand Union, namely, the expenses of 21 men from Syduey and back to Sydney. It was pointed out that though the expense from Sydney to IV ew Zealand and baok wonld be greater than from Sydney to Briehane and back, the Queensland team wonld be playing more matcheß in New Zealand than the Now Zealand team played in Queensland. It was understood the expenses between Sydney and Brisbane would be met by the New South Wales Union under the intercolonii 1 arrangement. It was resolved to write to the Rev. Mr. Hoatson and the Victorian Union as to a match in Melbonrne. It was also resolved that if satisfactory arrangements could bo made the match New Zealand v. Queensland should be played in Dunedin, and the ruatoh North v. South Island in Wellington. The probable receipts and expenditure of the Queensland tonr were given preliminary consideration, and as a result the Committee concluded that it was practically oertain to show a oredit balance. It was resolved, in accordance with a recommendation of the general meeting, to remove the inhibition against acting as captain of representative teams from W. M'Kenzie. It was pointed out that the punishment had been inflicted from failure to tully control his men, and that M'Kenxie's personal condnot had been exemplary since, while there was a general feeling at Nelson and Wellington that the time had come to remove the disqualification. The name of an Otago gentloman for appointment to the Appeal Committee was suggested, but in the absence of the Otago delegate it was decided to defer the appointment till the delegate could be present. The Secretary of the proposed Waipawa Union wrote that he had called a meetiner of club delegates, in accordance with the suggestion made by the Secretary of (ho New Zealand Union before the annual meeting, with a view to the new body becoming a branoh of the Hawbes Bay Union. Mr Hoben said he had since seen the Seoretary of tbe Hatvkes B«y Union, who had said that his Union would do all in its power for the new branch. The Tar&iaki Union forwarded revised acoounts in regard to the New South V/al^s match, showing a credit balance instead of a shortage. It was decided that the Secretary should go through these and the Nelson accounts, and ascertain the exact amount which would now be required to make good the deficit, and that a levy should then be struck to this amount as directed by the annual meeting, such levy to be returned to Unions as soon as the New Zealand Union was in a position to do co. The question of the proposed visit of a team from the English Union to the New Zealand and other colonial Unions was oonsidored, and it was decided to leave the matter in the hands of Mr. Logan to consider with tbe English Union in England.
