ATKINSON MEMORIAL.

TO THE XDITOR. Sir—l should be glad if you would advooate the making use of the sum collected for a memorial to the late Sir H. Atkinson, although the amount seems paltry enouph for the purpose. Still, if something is not done soon the money will remain in tho Bank, perhaps for years, and then bo applied to some other object. Th cc things have been proposed: a portrait to bo placed in the House oE Hepretentativea, a mnrbV bust, a handsome memorial brass. Surely it would not be very difficult for the Central Committee, or at all events sufficient members of it to form a quorum, to meet and decide upon any one of these which they prefer. As three years nearly have elapsed Bince Sir H. Atkinson's death, it is qnite time the matter should be decided without further delay. I am, &c , New Plymouth. Henbt Goyett.
