Thi following conversation was overheard in Cuba-street last Saturday :—Mrs. Jones; have you been in C. Smith's, the draper, lately P Yes, I have iust oome from there now. Why ? Did you ever see snob, a tremendous stook of jaokets, golf capes,, and mackintoshes ? Whatever will they do with them p—there seems enough for every woman and girl in the oolony; in fact, the mantle showroom is so full you oan scarcely find room to try them on. I thought them exoeedingly oheap. I saw-some beautiful jaokets at 17i 6d, 22s 6d, 30i, quite equal to, - what I paid 45s for last year.—Adyt,
