LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.-Having been duly nominated to represent you in the City Counoil, I respectfully ask for yonr votes and interest in the forthcoming eleotion, which takes place in the Foresters' Hall, Tory-street, on the 13th of this month. TO THE RATEPAYERS OF LAMBTON WARD. ♦T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN— I have I 1 this day been nominated aa a Candidato for the offioe of Councillor. I can offer you no previous experionce in the City Council. lam morely a plain business man of ten years' standing among you, willing to take part in the municipal work of the City, urged thereto by the kindly wishes recently placed before me by influential deputation and requisition . lam the mouth-piece of no party and have no axe to grind. I am a Btrong believer in the thorough and complete drainage of the City. If, as has beon stated, the cost of the present scheme was under-estimated, that faot must not ■tM>JA.«p«mrlf being properly completed as ■BPSrTyaa possible. "**' I agree with the general impression that the bnrden of rates is growing heavier each year, and the result a gradual diminution of all City properties. -. A readjustment of the Corporation finance by consolidation of loans or otherwise would greatly assist to plaoe the City on a better financial footing. It appears to me that the citizens will not consent much longor to oontribute larga sums annually for Corporation expenditure, and get ao little real City improvement work dona for the money. I desire ,if returned to fgive this important question some fpeoial attention. I consider the present Building Regulations and Bylaws aro unsatisfactory, and require rectification. The half -holiday qnestion will shortly have to be considered by the Council. My opinion is that Saturday afternoon should be selected as presenting many advantages over Wednesday. ' I hope to bo favoured with the confidence of a substantial majority of the Ward. If ao, I shall endeavour to bring to the business of the City Counoil that fidelity, energy, and oare, absolutely necessary, and to give to the wishes of the ratepayers at all times the fullest courtony and attention. I am. Ladies and Gentlemen, Your obedient Bervant, MAURICE P. CAMERON. Slat October, 1894. TO THE RATEPAYERS OF COOK WARD.
