FOOTBALL.
A meeting of the Management Committee of tho Wellington Rugby Union was held last evening* Mr. M. J. Hodgins in tho chair. Consideration of a letter from the Hawkes Bay Union asking for a date for the Welling-ton-Hawkes Bay match, was deferred until the return of the representative team from Auckland, when tho question of playing a matoh with Canterbury will also be dealt with. The Seoretary was directed to ask the Horowhenua Union if it intends to send a junior team to Wellington this year. The Wellington College team leaves for Nelson on Sunday, and will play Nelson College on Monday. The UJatoh between H.M.S Wallaroo and the Wellington Nayals has fallen through, on account of prior engagement of the Wallaroo's men.
