WELLINGTON AND MANAWATU RAILWAY CO.
MR. W. M. HANNAY APPOINTED SECRETARY. Mr. Hannay, late one of the Commissioners of New Zoaland Railway*, has been appointed Secretary to the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company, and will shortly take up his duties, 'ihe company received a very largo number of applications in responso to its advertisement, several boing from persons highly qualified to fulfil tho position. Tho shareholders aro to bo j congratulated on having secured the services of Buoh a thoroughly compotont successor to Mr. James Wallace, whose services to the company havo been so great.
