AGITATION AGAINST THE HOUSE OF LORDS.
GREAT MEETING IN HYDE PARK. I SPECIAL.] (Received August 28, 10.50 a.m.) London, 27th Augußt. A mass meeting of Trades Unionists and members ot Radical Societies, to the number of 30,000, waß held in Hyde Park. Resolutions were passed urging the Government to repair omission to take action againßt the House of Lords, and give a pledge to immediately abolish the Chamber of Peers. There were eleven platforms, and among the speakers were several M.P.'s. Mr. W. O'Brien said the treatment of the House of Common b by the other Chamber was worae than it had undergone at the hands of the Stuart Kings. The Daily Chronicle estimates that the attendance numbered 60,000, but the other papers give it as above.
