Evejiiso Post Office, Monday Afternoon A. G. Tame and Co. report on their weekly Saturday horse sale :— Good attendance, but only a moderate entry. For good express and light harness horses there was a fair demand, but none of the right sort were entered. Tho absence from the sole of draughts was freely commented upon, as a few "buyers were present, but the price offered locally is not good enough to encourage southern shippers, as good horses in Canterbury are worth as much as they are hero. We offered a number of hacks and light harness horses, but the class was not good enough to induce much bidding. The sales were unimportant and really no guide to the market. We are advised of a large number of light harness and other horses from the country coming forward shortly, which will be duly advertised. We quote good heavy draughts, JCI9 to £22 ; medium, from £14 to £18 : good express honea, active and with some weight, £12 to £15 ; aged sorts, £6 to £10. Towksekd and Padl report on Saturday's horse market aa follows :— A moderate entry of the lighter description of horses, which we sold at £7 to £0 15s for useful harness sorts, and a good upstanding mare, rather heavier, at £16 ; aged and hi low condition, 45s to £1. The coaching stallion Jupiter and the Clydesdale entires The Count ana Honent Johnny, not reaching owners' reserves, we passed in, and aro for private salo by 111. Good sound and young heavy draughts are in limited demand at £18 to £22. The riie in this class of Btock down South has deterred dealors from risking this market. Express and spring dray atamps are stiil in request at £12 to £15, and as the season advances there will bo a better sale for light harness horses and hacks.
