AN AWFUL COLLIERY DISASTER.
ONE HUNDRED MINERS ENTOMBED. I SPECIAL. I (Received August 27, 11 a.m.) New York, 26th August. A colliery at Seattle, in Washington State, caught fire, and 100 miners were entombed. Thirty-seven corpses have been taken out, horribly burned. Owing to the roofs of the drives falling in, the rescue party has been unable to reaoh the others, and they are believed to be dead.
