|Bt Tbleoraph.J iunitjsd filiss association. i *■ Auckland. 27th July. The quarterly Communication of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand was held in the Masonic Hall, Princess-street, last evening. In tho absence of the Most Worshipful Jrand Master, Bro. H. D. Bell, who was inablo to leavo his Parliamentary duties, i> Q jl. Bro. M. Niccol presided, and tho ■ 'iilmvinfr grand officers wore present from vVullinxton:— The Grand Secretary (V.W. liuv. Bro. W. Ronaldson), and R.W. Bro. H.J. Williams, Grand Superintendent. There were a large number of visiting uretbren present, the Lodgeß Beta (Waikato) vnd Coromandel be^ng especially well represented. Apologies were received for the absence of the M.W. Grand Master, who announced his intention of visiting Auckland at a later date, and from M.W.P.G. Maateni H. Thomson, B. T. Gillon, K.W. Bro. Hulbert, and other brethren. The roll of Lodgeß was stated at 96, with immediate prospects of farther additions, two applications being under consideration. P.G.M. Bro. Niccol expressed the opinion that when th« number reached 100 tho occasion should be fitly celebrated. The quarterly statement of receipts and disbursements was read, and tbo reports of Boards of Benevolenco and General Purposes were, after discussion, adopted. A considerable amount was expended in relief during the past three months, irrespective of Constitutions. The laws and regulations of tho Grand Lodge had been very carefully revised, and the amendment proposed submit'od to the lodgos for tho statutory period for consideration. The reports of the various Grand Superintendents were of a most satisfactory character, as showing that their lespeotive districts are all progressing most favourably. Patents of office were presented to various officers, and the usual congratulations from Grand Representatives having been received, the Grand Lodge was dosed at 9.45 p.m. The brethren then adjourned to the banquotting room, where the usual loyal and Masonic toasts wore duly honourod, and a most pleasing hour of social converse enjoyed.
