The population of the metropolitan district has decreased 6 per cent, as compared with that of the preceding year. As births show an increase over the deaths of fully 8 per cent., the decrease mußt be accounted for by people having left the district A somewhat extraordinary publication has been issued from the Government Printing Offioe by authority. It is supposed that Kemp, lato Secretary to the Victorian Treasury Tender Board, for whom a warrant was issued on a charge of embezzling £1000, was on board. Pkrth, This Dat.
