BREAK-UP OF AN OLD COMPANY. [By Tklegraph.J [united press association. I Auckland, This Day. The Auokland Engineer Company, has b«en disbanded. At its final meeting, Mr. Watson spoke of the treatment the volunteers bad received frrm the Government. He said he had been a volunteer for 23 years, but on application being made for his long-service medal he was informed that bia service was not snfhoient. Major Anderson spoke of tho trouble he had experienced in obtaining the medals recently recoivod for the oldest members. He had himself applied for a medal, having been a member of the company ever sinoe its inauguration, but had beon informed that having been absent from one parade in 20 years (and that was when he was ill), he was not entitled to tho medal. He let that p»m, and did not again apply for himself. The motion to disband waß carried with only one dissentient.
