Mr. Denny bad occasion to remonstrate with the offender for treading- on a do? while passing throueh the hotel, and wLiie ppeakmg was knocked down. Th« pame treatment was meted oat to Mrs. Denny, who went to her htuband's assistance. I UNIT&D PKKBB ASSOCIATION. I Auckland, 12th April. Miss Maria March, music teacher, was assaulted last night on her way home, being struck on the head with some hard f nbstance by an unknown man and knocked down, She received a nasty jagged wound on the head. The police are endeavouring to identify the cowardly assailant.
