ACCIDENT ON THE KA RORI ROAD.

• A PARTY OF LADIE3 THROWN OUT OP A TRAP. About 3 o'cloolc yesterday afternoon a trap containing Mrs. C. C. Graham, Miss Graham, and the Missel Henry (2), daughters of the late Dr. Henry, capsized on the Karon-road, with the result that ail the ladies were more or less hart, Miss Henry's injuries being in fact bo serious that it was feared for some time that she would not recover. The party left town about half-past 2 for Mrs. Graham's residence at Karori, Mill Graham handling the reins. The horse took fright going down Baker's Hill, and bolted, and in a very short time the trap was lying npside down, with the ladies on the road olose by. Mr. R. G. Knight, Bailmaker, who resides on the Kirori-road, witnessed the occurrence, and assisted to place the sufferers in a cab which happened to be passing They were conveyed to Mrs. Graham' a residence, and Dr. Anscn, who was at Karori on a professional visit, was soon in attendance. A telephone message was also sent to Dr. Adams and Dr. King, who lost no time in driving; oat to Karori. Miss Henry was unconscious when picked up, and an examination by the medical men showed that she had sustained concussion of the b aiu. Her condition for some hours after the accident was Buchas to cause grave alarm, but favourable symptoms appeared as tho night wore on. Mrs. Graham was hurt on the baok, side, and shoulder, and had austained a severe shock to her nervous system. Miss Oeraldine Henry, in addition to being much shaken, was hurt on the top of the head, while Miss Graham received a black eye and a number of bruises on the body. The trap was considerably damaged. We are glad to learn that Miss Henry is progressing favourably. Her ultimate recovery ia believed to be only a matter of time.
