It is stntod at Otorohanga that the Ngalimnniapoto candidate, who polled the noxt highest number of Totes, will petition affainst Ropata te Ao's retnru on tho ground that the latter was on thq European electoral roll for the Otaki diitriot at tho time of his nomination, nndnr the name of " Hema Ropata te Ao." On nomination day, it is said, the Returning Officer was assured that Hema Ropata to Ao and Ropata te Ao were different persons, vrheroaa it is now asserted that they are one and tho samo. Kketone, it is (stated, will endeavour to got Ropata te Ao disqualified.
