The block was divided into 29 sections of from 10 to 20 acres, the halfyearly rents ranging from £3 to £9. There were 380 applications, and all except three wore allotted. DuNEniN, This Day. At a ballot for land in tho Otago Central Distriot, thero were numerous applications for nearly every seotion. For one section thero wore 121 applications, and for another 92. About 75 per cent, of thn applications wore under the lease-in-porpetuity system, two per cent, tho cash By stem, and the remainder on lease with right to purchase.
