Hokitika, 20th November. Tho Hon. Mr. Seddon has been returned unopposed for the Westland seat. Invercaboill, 20th November. The Hon. J. G. Ward iB the only candidate nominated for the Awarua seat. This Dat. Mr. Joseph Hatch received a vote of thanks from a crowded meeting last night. He approved the general polioy bnt not the personnel of tho Ministry, preferring 1 Sir Robert Stout as leader. Napiee, 20th November. Mr. Swan's nomination paper was signed by three women electors. The women here are holding meetings at whioh they will hear addresses from representatives of both sides in politics, not candidates. The theatres have been lent free for the purpose. Auckland, 20th November. Mr. 0. E. Button addressed his first meeting of the City electors, and received a vote of thanks and confidence. He declared himself opposed to Bible reading in schools, the co-operativo system of publio workp, and Government control of tho railways. This Dat. Captain Fernandez received a vote of thanks and confidence from his first meeting of City electors to-night. He expressed himself as a supporter of the Government, and in favour of the compulsory Saturday halfholiday, but considered that business places shonld be opened for a few hours on Sunday to compensate for it. Manaia, This Dat. Mr. Allsworth, the Government candidate, addressed a crowded audience here last night. During tho evening he was pelted with rotten eggs, but he manfully maintained his position, and was not hit once. Dunkdin, Tnis Dat, - The Premier speaks here on Thursday night.
