Mr. Francis, Chairman of the Railway Commissioners, has issued writs against the Argus and the Australasian, claiming X 10,000 as damages for libel. Hayes, a well-known jockey, is string the Australasian for iSSOOO damages for libel in connection with tno paper's comments on the Victorian Bating Club refusing to renew his license.
