THE LIBERAL ASSOCIATION'S PLATFORM.

The Liboral Association spent some hours last night considering its platform, and finally adopted tho following, which is modelled on the lines of the Otago Association's platform : — ELECTORAL REFORM*. 1 The securing of voting power to every adult householder in municipal elections, and the abolition of plural voting. 2. The election of all local Boards, said Boards to be oleoted annually on tho same franohiso as for Parliamentary elections, 3. Tho fixing of a speoified day on the occasion of general elections, said day to bo declared a publio holiday, and all hotels to be closed. 4. The securing of a more stringent Corrupt Practices Law, with a olauso providing for all accounts paid by candidates or their agents being filed with tho Registrar of Electors ; candidates to make statutory declarations that there aro no oilier liabilities. EDUCATIONAL HEFOKM. 1. Free and secular education from the primary schools to tho Universities. 2. Compulsory education up to tho age of H. pupils passing the Sixth Standard before attaining that apo excepted. 3. The opening of the high schools only to those who pass the Sixth Standard, and to holders of Junior Scholarships; said scholarships to bo inert isod. 4. The placing of all educational endowments under the control of the jtiniater for Education. 5. The establishment of a State bank, with a monopoly of paper money, t. The abolition of the Upper House and institution of the Rofercndum. 5. The absolute oontrol of the drink traffic by the people. 6. Tho abolition of Special and Grand Juries, and payment to ]urors of 10s per day when sitting or in attendance at civil or criminal sessions and Coroners' inquests. 7. The exemption from taxation of all buildings in boroughs, and the levying of taxation on land only, according to value, whether built upon or not.
