Hearno took m all seven wickets for 58 runs, and Rawlin secured two for 61. | Tho prinoipal scorers ia tho first innings of the County toam wore : —Douglas 12Ford, U; O'Brion, 13; West (not out), 13; Hearne, 18. Turner took six wickets for 30, and Trumble four for 37. They were almost unplayable. The Australians wont in again, and at the olose of tho day had run up 144 for the loss of three wickets, so that they now have a lead of 213, with seven wickets to fall. The piinoipal scorers are :— Lyons, 51 ; Giffon, 14 ; Trott (not out), 53 ; Trumble (not out), 24. Lyons hit grandly. Ono straight drive of his, clean over the stand, was the biggest hit over aeon on the ground. Trott and Trumble both Bcorod very freoly off the rathor weak Middlosox bowling. Tho 144 were put up in 92 minutes.
