In reply to a question, the Chief Secretary said he had no intention at present of asking Parliamentary sanction to a subsidy for the Canadian steamship line. It had been decided to wait until the financial bnrden was lightened. Besides, if the service was to be of much advantage to Queensland, the steamers should call at Koppel Bay, as well as at Brisbane.
