TO THE'KDITOK. Sib.— The Bill ihtrodn6od by tho Hon. R. Soddon, relative to the 'abolition -of imprisonment for debt, is well worthy tho deep and earnest consideration of our progressive humanity. 'J he tendenoy of thia generation of enlightened politicians is not to oroate criminals, as witness the Probation Act. It can certainly be asserted that nnder tho present effete and barbarous system, a man of worthy instincts and with the highest attributes of citizenship can be made- a criminal through his misfortune, and not by any direotactjof criminality. It is well known that business is often foisted on honest but easily-persuaded purchasers by those who are qoipußant of the workings of the present iuiqu;faus"'Abf |° ' I am, &0., Allan Obb.
