THE SILVER CRISIS.
AN EXTRA. SESSION OF CONGRESS. [united prkbs association. l (Received June 7. 10.50 a.m.) Washington. Oth Juno. The President has announced that there will have to be an extra session of Congress in September, to consider the financial position, which menaces tho country's welfare. The crisis has been brought about by tho compulsory purchase of largo quantities of silver which have to remain idle and tho resultant drain of pold from tho national reaervo, whereby other nations aro being strengthened at the expense of the United States.
