Ho urged that steps lllioflld bo takon to cement tho alliance botween the Unionists and Conservatives. , | The Union passed resolutions oxprcssitig unanimous sympathy with, and approval of, labour candidates, agreeing to discuss on the I floor of the Honso the olaims of women to bo granted the franchise, proposing to oetablieh a Department of Labour, favouring the disqualification Of illiterate voters, ottering assistance in the establishment of small rnral holdings, thus relieving the townß of ! surplus labour, nnd condemning tho principle of fme J man-one-voto. A motion by Mr, Howard VincSttt, fkVonring the principles tff tfto Empire Trado League, was carried.
